About Scott Fisk
Scott Fisk owns and operates an illustration studio in central Vermont called
"Studio 669" . From this studio "CAR-TOONER.com" was born.
Graduating from Butera School of Fine Art, Boston in 1992 with a "degree" in Signage,
and Graphic Design. Scott has been a Sign Painter/Designer ever since.
Prior to that (even during and after that) Scott was an illustrator, drawing on ANYTHING
that would hold ink! "I remember being your typical BROKE art student. I'd go to bars' and
draw on cocktail napkins for drinks...I was good for about 3 drawings, then the quality
started to go down hill!...but the people loved it...so hey, way cool!"
Scott self-taught himself to air-brush at the age of 14...always having his eyes glued in
rod magazines...Always fascinated with flames, and stripes, not to mention any "ride"
that was cool!. "I ruined a lot of shirts, made a heck of a mess! but I learned...If paint
would stick to it? then I was there!...did a lot of garbage cans too...laugh"
His mentality was set.. so at age 20, Scott set off to Boston, leaving "little" Vermont behind with a plan to make it happen.
The "Kulture" was already flowing, he just wasn't aware.
"My 2nd year instructor was awesome, he did the Aerosmith tour jet, as well as a few Budweiser speed boats, but you know what was the best? watching him drive down Beacon Street in his '57 NOMAD ...that guy was cool! He let me work with him on weekends lettering trucks, he'd always buy the lunch (I was broke, so free food is always good). He taught me to make money holding a brush".
He always used to say that an artist knows he's an artist....and a poser can be spotted from a mile away!...and most important, "There is no time for EGOS!"
Even after his time in Boston being "schooled", and running a sign/design business, there was still something missing. It was the drawing time that Scott missed...drawing cars, all "breeds"...didn't matter what it was, he missed his ink time. "Drawing is instant gratification! ANYTHING is possible with an eraser!" So after a few years of brain-storming, "CAR-TOONER.com" was born.
Just like my hand holds a brush, it also holds a pencil
there are NO adobe programs here.. just the fingers from my left hand.
It has taken me years to develop this style, while I do enjoy doing renderings of cars in exact detail, I find these CAR-TOONS most satisfying
not to mention, THEY ARE A BLAST TO DRAW!
